What is Reman?
Remanufacturing is a comprehensive and rigorous industrial process by which a previously sold, leased, used, worn, or non-functional product or part is returned to a “like-new” or “better-than-new” condition, from both a quality and performance perspective, through a controlled, reproducible, and sustainable process.
Remanufacturing has an American National Standard. The standard was developed to promote a common understanding of remanufacturing and credibility for the remanufacturing industry.
The standard defines and provides a benchmark for the process of remanufacturing, and establishes specifications that characterize the remanufacturing process and differentiate remanufacturing from other practices.
